About

Hello! My name is Kate and I am originally from the New Orleans area but my family is from southern Illinois, so I have that southern charm mixed with Midwest pride! I am an alumna of the University of New Orleans and graduated in 2013! I had a wonderful college experience and was involved in many different organizations on campus. As a commuter student, my favorite thing about UNO was the plethora of resources that UNO had to offer their students. I also loved how warm and friendly the faculty, staff, and UNO community in general, were towards the student population. I am so excited to work as an admissions counselor and share with prospective new students all of the wonderful and numerous opportunities UNO has to offer!

About

In west Cincinnati I was born and raised, on the theatre stage is where I spent most of my days! Although, for the past three years, I've enjoyed being a hip hop group fitness instructor. When not attending a live concert at the Superdome or UNO's Lakefront Arena, I enjoy bike rides in the world-famous City Park or trying out the different sights, sounds, and tastes of the culturally-rich city of New Orleans. There is truly no other place in the world like New Orleans and UNO students have the great opportunity to develop academically, professionally, and personally in a truly unique setting. As the premier urban, public research institution for New Orleans, the city truly becomes your campus at UNO. There is a reason UNO is called The Heartbeat of the Crescent City. I invite you to campus to come discover the fantastic offerings for yourself you'll be amazed!

About

Coming from a small town in eastern North Carolina, I've grown to appreciate the joys of living in a city as unique as New Orleans. New Orleans has been home to me for more than a year and Louisiana for six years. I absolutely love living here! Kind strangers will ask you if the Saints will get a win on Sunday, offer dinner recommendations, and even let you view a Mardi Gras parade from their awesome reserved spot along the route. On a fateful trip to New Orleans in 2005 I actually met my husband at the airport! This city will always have a special place in my heart. UNO offers an excellent opportunity for you to not only live in one of the best cities in the world, but also get a top-notch education. It's a win-win situation!!

There really is no other place in the world that compares to New Orleans. The city is a melting pot of different cultures that bring diverse music, food and art to the area. This is why I came back to Louisiana after travelling and spending some time in Georgia. UNO mirrors the same mentality of the city by being very inviting and having a place for everyone. I encourage you to discover where you could fit in here.

Although I was born and raised in Louisville, KY, I recently relocated to the great city of New Orleans. After my first experience with the rich culture and city atmosphere, I knew that I had found my home away from home. Just as I was greeted with open arms into the city, UNO too welcomed me into the campus. At UNO, you will be invited to participate in a unique educational experience that will allow you to embrace everything that the Big Easy has to offer including food, art, culture, and research. I am thrilled to be working as an Admissions Counselor at UNO, and I urge you to come visit us to see for yourself all of the opportunities our beautiful Lakefront campus has to offer.

New Orleans has the unique ability to bring people together. I recently moved back from Oklahoma City, and couldn't have asked for a better place to call home. Whether its the great food on St. Charles, enjoying live music on Frenchman, listening to local history stories, or just drinking a cup of coffee and people watching, New Orleans has so much to offer. UNO students are presented a rare opportunity to receive a phenomenal education and experience a fascinating culture, while on campus. Come visit and learn why UNO is the Heartbeat of the Crescent City!
