Greetings! I originally grew up on a farm in Iowa and moved to New Orleans in 2010 to attend the University of New Orleans for an undergraduate degree. I graduated from UNO in 2013! I had an amazing college experience and have grown to love this city. Not only did I meet people from New Orleans and greater Louisiana, but from all over the US and even the globe, as there is representation on the UNO campus from all 50 states and 100 different countries! Being an admissions counselor gives me the wonderful opportunity to help students find their way to UNO and to have an incredible experience, much as I did being a student here!

In west Cincinnati I was born and raised, on the theatre stage is where I spent most of my days! Although, for the past three years, I've enjoyed being a hip hop group fitness instructor. When not attending a live concert at the Superdome or UNO's Lakefront Arena, I enjoy bike rides in the world-famous City Park or trying out the different sights, sounds, and tastes of the culturally-rich city of New Orleans. There is truly no other place in the world like New Orleans and UNO students have the great opportunity to develop academically, professionally, and personally in a truly unique setting. As the premier urban, public research institution for New Orleans, the city truly becomes your campus at UNO. There is a reason UNO is called "The Heartbeat of the Crescent City." I invite you to campus to come discover the fantastic offerings for yourself—you'll be amazed!

I'm originally from Birmingham, AL and moved to New Orleans after finishing graduate school in December 2009.  I can say, without a doubt, that I have never lived anywhere so unique and so culturally rich as New Orleans.  From what I've learned, if you're from here you never leave...if you leave you come back...if you're here for the first time, there's a good chance you'll stay.  What's great about UNO is that you get the combination of a stellar education paired with the fun of being a student in a city like New Orleans.  It's easy to find yourself walking the French Quarter with your history class, or meeting for music appreciation class at a jazz club on Frenchman Street as our professors are very supportive or learning opportunities outside the classroom! Being an admissions counselor gives me the great opportunity to help with this exciting transition to college, so please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Coming from a small town in eastern North Carolina, I've grown to appreciate the joys of living in a city as unique as New Orleans. New Orleans has been home to me for more than a year and Louisiana for six years. I absolutely love living here! Kind strangers will ask you if the Saints will get a win on Sunday, offer dinner recommendations, and even let you view a Mardi Gras parade from their awesome reserved spot along the route. On a fateful trip to New Orleans in 2005 I actually met my husband at the airport! This city will always have a special place in my heart. UNO offers an excellent opportunity for you to not only live in one of the best cities in the world, but also get a top-notch education. It's a win-win situation!!

I moved to New Orleans from the San Francisco Bay Area in the summer of 2012. During college, I had the opportunity to study abroad in two different destinations, Berlin and Paris, and fell in love with international education. I personally believe that studying in another country is one of the most formative experiences in one's life, and is so important to be competitive in this ever-globalizing world. I am excited to speak with prospective students and their families about life in America and New Orleans, and to guide them through the admissions process. If you are willing to jump at this chance for personal and academic growth, I think you will find UNO to be an excellent fit!
