New Orleans has the unique ability to bring people together. I recently moved back from Oklahoma City, and couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home. Whether it’s the great food on St. Charles, enjoying live music on Frenchman, listening to local history stories, or just drinking a cup of coffee and people watching, New Orleans has so much to offer. UNO students are presented a rare opportunity to receive a phenomenal education and experience a fascinating culture, while on campus. Come visit and learn why UNO is the “Heartbeat of the Crescent City.”

Coming from a small town in eastern North Carolina, I've grown to appreciate the joys of living in a city as unique as New Orleans. New Orleans has been home to me for more than a year and Louisiana for six years. I absolutely love living here! Kind strangers will ask you if the Saints will get a win on Sunday, offer dinner recommendations, and even let you view a Mardi Gras parade from their awesome reserved spot along the route. On a fateful trip to New Orleans in 2005 I actually met my husband at the airport! This city will always have a special place in my heart. UNO offers an excellent opportunity for you to not only live in one of the best cities in the world, but also get a top-notch education. It's a win-win situation!!

I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma but have lived in the New Orleans area for about half of my life. Having also lived in Texas and Tennessee, I understand what it means to make a home wherever you go. I’m proud to call New Orleans home and The University of New Orleans my alma mater. As a transfer student you will appreciate the “melting pot” nature of the city and our school because there are no outsiders here. The diversity of the city – its food, music, and citizens—is echoed in the makeup of UNO. There is truly something for everyone, whether you’re picking a major from the plethora of our academic programs or joining one of our 120+ student organizations. Come make yourself at home!
