UNO Students Learn Space Age Technology

Students receive hands-on experience with friction-stir welding using leading industrial technologies at the National Center for Advanced Manufacturing (NCAM). Located at the Michoud Assembly Facility, this is the same equipment and processes used in the NASA Space Program. The course (EN 4096-5096) is the result of a partnership between NASA, NCAM, and the University of New Orleans and is open to students at several universities in the region.
