Engineering Facilities

The UNO College of Engineering is located in a state-of-the-art,
nine-story building with specialized facilities for each department.

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

• A structures laboratory with a load frame and 20-ton gantry crane to support large-scale testing
• An instrumented geotechnical laboratory automated for physical and engineering testing of soil materials
• Fully-equipped construction and mechanics of materials testing facilities
• An environmental laboratory equipped for air and water quality testing, pilot facilities, and laboratory and field resources recovery training research facilities
• A hydraulic and water resources laboratory with a tilting flume for large-scale hydraulic modeling
• A topographic engineering lab, fully equipped with complete production mapping equipment including printtransfer, photo triangulation and stereo compilation equipment for all current forms of digital mapping products to support engineering designs
