Counselor Education Graduate Assumes Presidency of the American Counseling Association

Cirecie West-Olatunji

Dr. Cirecie West-Olatunji, a graduate of the COEHD's masters and doctoral programs in Counseling and Counselor Education, is currently serving as the President of the American Counseling Association (ACA). An Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for Counselor Education at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. West-Olatunji, has initiated a number of clinical research projects that focus on culture-centered community collaborations and has conducted commissioned research. In addition, she has delivered invited lectures and research papers worldwide. She has coordinated disaster mental health outreach projects in New Orleans, South Africa, Botswana and Haiti. At present, she is pursuing a project aimed at the development of an on-line disaster mental health certificate program.
