Independent Study Agreement for Undergraduate Students
To register for an independent study, please download, complete and submit the Independent
Study Agreement for Undergraduate Students to the undergraduate program coordinator
and the professor who has agreed to work with you. Students cannot register themselves
for an independent study session; they should contact their program coordinator after
obtaining approval from the supervising faculty member. Please note that the Director
of Academic Services or program coordinator will not enroll students in an independent
study course without written approval from the supervising faculty member (email notification
is acceptable).
Dissertation Defense Announcement
All PhD Candidates should complete the 'Dissertation Defense Announcement' at least
one (1) month, but no sooner than two (2) weeks of the Dissertation Defense date.
This announcement must be provided to both the Program (for public posting) and the
Graduate School.
Dissertation Research Agreement
To register for dissertation research, please download, complete and submit the Dissertation
Research Agreement to the Ph.D. in Urban Studies Graduate Coordinator and the chair
of your dissertation committee. Students cannot register themselves for dissertation
research; department consent is required. Students with co-chairs are required to
complete a different Dissertation Research Agreement (co-chairs).
Examination or Thesis Only Agreement
To register for this session, please download, complete and submit the Examination
or Thesis Only Agreement to the relevant program coordinator and the chair of thesis,
dissertation or final project committee. Students cannot register themselves for this
course; department consent is required. Student with co-chairs are required to complete
a different Examination or Thesis Only Agreement (co-chairs).

Study Agreement for Doctoral Students to the Ph.D. in Urban Studies Graduate Coordinator,

MURP 6800 Planning Internship
To register for a graduate level planning internship, please download, complete and
submit the Planning Internship Work Plan and Agreement to your graduate program coordinator
and the faculty advisor who has agreed to manage the session. Additional information
on planning internship requirements can be found within the syllabus for MURP 6800. Students cannot register themselves for a planning internship; they should contact
their program coordinator after obtaining approval from the supervising faculty member.

URBN 3998 Undergraduate Planning Internship
To register for an undergraduate level planning internship, please download, complete
and submit the Planning Internship Work Plan and Agreement to the BSUSP program coordinator.
Additional information on planning internship requirements can be found within the
syllabus for URBN3998. Students cannot register themselves for a planning internship; they should contact
their program coordinator after obtaining approval from the supervising faculty member.

URBN 3999 Senior Honors Thesis
To register for the URBN 3999 Senior Honors Thesis, please download, complete and
submit the Work Plan and Agreement to the Thesis Advisor. The Thesis Advisor will
submit the form to the BSUSP program coordinator. The BSUSP Advisor must obtain approval
from the Honors Program prior to the student obtaining enrollment permission. Please
not that the Director of Academic Services or Program Coordinator will not enroll
students in the course session without written approval from the Thesis Advisor (email
notification is acceptable). Additional information on the Honors Program and Senior
Honors Thesis requirements can be found within the syllabus for URBN 3999. Students cannot register themselves for URBN 3999 until they receive enrollment
permission from the Program Coordinator. The process for enrollment is summarized
