Graduate Assistantships

Many types of graduate assistantships are available to CWW students:

  • teaching in the Freshman Composition program
  • tutoring for the Writing Center
  • working with the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival
  • Additionally, the CWW offers administrative assistantships, research assistantships, as well as editorial positions at Bayou Magazine and UNO Press.


Assistantship stipends are $5400 and entail 20 hours of work at one of the jobs listed above. All the assistantships provide professional training in writing-related fields, preparing our students for life after the MFA.
