POSITION SUMMARY

Tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2017. All areas of Analytical Chemistry will be considered. The University of New Orleans is a Carnegie High Research Activity institution; The Department of Chemistry offers Chemistry degrees at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. level. Faculty have a strong record of competitive research funding from NIH, NSF, and other federal and state agencies. There are also opportunities for collaboration with researchers in the UNO Advanced Material Research Institute (AMRI) and other New Orleans-based institutions: New Orleans LSU Health Science Center, LSU Dental School, Tulane University and Tulane University Medical School. The Greater New Orleans area is in the midst of rapid growth in the area of biomedical research, and offers a unique combination of affordable living and rich cultural experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be expected to offer broad and specialized courses in analytical chemistry, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, develop a nationally competitive research profile, and secure external research funding.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or in a closely related field in hand, or completed, by August 2017.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Postdoctoral experience preferred, prior teaching experience, strong publication record, and ability to secure external research funding.


SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
