Assistant Registrar for Scheduling

The Assistant Registrar for Academic Scheduling reports directly to the Director of Catalog and Curriculum and is responsible for maintaining the Academic Course Master for the University. The position works directly with academic deans, department chairs, and other faculty to ensure university academic facility utilization is maximized. The position also coordinates the scheduling of all academic facilities at UNO


• Responsible for coordinating with Colleges in formulating the class schedule in print and/or electronic formats as needed, and for updating the schedule as student and demand warrants, including web scheduling • Works closely with the Associate Provost and his/her designee and the University Courses and Curriculum Committee to ensure that all University policies are adhered to in all maintenance activities related to updating and/or making changes in the Master Course File. Coordinates transition of courses from earlier Catalogs to our current Master Course File • Responsible for all scheduling of academic facilities for functions such as meetings, group testing, outside seminars, etc. Works with other department offices such as Campus Booking, Media Resources, and Facility Services as a resource in the use of the central information system to develop reports, analyses and/or other functions as necessary • Actively serves on the University Space Allocation Committee and acts as a consultant to the University Courses and Curriculum Committee • Works closely with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research on classroom utilization studies and reports. Continuously reviews all policies and procedures related to academic scheduling and classroom utilization and makes recommendations to the Registrar and the Office of Academic Affairs for needed changes and revisions. • Responsible for sending out Registrar’s Office memos to students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner. • Creates the student and administrative calendars on the basis of dates decided by the University Calendar Committee. • Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree. Three years of professional work experience.


Master’s Degree; One to three years’ experience in academic classroom scheduling; Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Ad Astra.


Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
