: The Assistant Director New Student Orientation serves as an integral member of the enrollment management team at the University of New Orleans. This position is housed within the Office of Enrollment Services, working with orientation and recruitment units to identify program needs to include orientation, recruitment, and yield efforts. The employee in this position must be a naturally persuasive, creative problem solver who thrives in an upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours. A self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills and will have demonstrated ability to follow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities and meet goals.


• Designs programs to meet the needs of prospective and incoming students and their parents/guests. • Assists with first year transition programs, including: Privateer Camp, Transfer Retreat for Leadership, and Privateer Plunge. • Trains and supervises a staff of student orientation leaders to assist with orientation programming. • Secures space and technical support to ensure all orientation and recruitment program needs are met. • Coordinates with UNO staff, faculty, and student representatives for presentations. • Delegates responsibilities to support staff, as needed. • Continually assesses efforts to ensure appropriate use of university resources. • Collects and uses data to make decisions that improve both individual and office performance. • Develops and maintains the required knowledge to serve as a resource to all students coming to the Privateer Enrollment Center. Will actively seek out this knowledge and take advantage of opportunities to grow professionally. • Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree and three (3) years’ experience in admissions or related field. Excellent oral, written communication, and strong interpersonal skills; self-starter and willing to travel and work non-traditional hours.


: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration or related field. Experience working in Enrollment Services, event planning, campus activities, or related field. Technical experience working with PeopleSoft and Hobsons software.


Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
