POSITION SUMMARY

As Assistant Director of Data Management, you will be responsible for downloading incoming applications, synchronizing application data between ApplyYourself and PeopleSoft, loading test scores and transcripts, building and configuring PC's, laptops, and iPads, loading software, serving as a troubleshooter for technological problems, making updates to the automated transfer credit system, maintaining and implementing our Optical Character Recognition system for scanning transcripts, running queries for data requests and admissions functions, and making updates to the Enrollment Services webpages.


RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be must be able to learn or be knowledgeable in various database systems and applications used by the Office of Enrollment Services. These systems include: • Hobson's ApplyYourself/Connect. This is the Customer Relations Management tool used for admissions applications, communications, and event management applications. • PSLN/WebStar-PeopleSoft Learning Solution. The student information and processing system which is utilized to record applications, personal information, educational history, test results, financial aid data, and other miscellaneous documents required to complete an applicant's file. • OnBase. The imaging system that stores all student documents and provides immediate access to all documents that have been scanned and provides campus-wide work flow functionality. • Global Financial Aid Services. This is the third party group that provides verification services for financial aid applicants. • Optical Character Recognition. This is the system that reads data from transcripts and converts this to PeopleSoft. • Transfer Evaluation Service. This is the external database that stores national and transfer equivalencies. • Various other applications including: Skype, Voice over IP phones, Adobe Connect for campus and distant student communications, and Java for maintaining Singularity. From an operational standpoint, this position will be responsible for • Downloading admissions applications and synchronizing application data between the two systems • Maintaining and implementing OCR • Loading test scores and transcripts from external senders to application files • Building and configuring PC's, laptops, iPads, loading and updating software, and serving as a troubleshooter for technological problems for Enrollment Services • Making updates to the automated transfer credit system • Running queries for data requests and admissions functions • Training staff to run queries in AY and various technological applications for recruitment functions • Making updates to Enrollment Services webpages • Using HTML/CSS coding for website and Connect updates From a customer service standpoint, this position will be responsible for • Working with applicants needing assistance submitting applications and creating accounts • Working with admitted students uploading financial aid documents to Global • Working recruitment events required of all staff including annual Get to Know UNO and Explore UNO From an administrative standpoint, this position will be responsible for • Monitoring supplies for Enrollment Services and assists the Associate Directors with numerous higher level administrative planning decisions and other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information systems, Business, Engineering or related fields. Also, 2 years of experience in data management, project management, or related experience. Must be willing to work flexible hours and be on call. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be a self-starter, willing to work non-traditional hours. Must possess the ability to relate to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Must have high energy level and strong interpersonal skills.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced Degree. High proficiency in Singularity, PeopleSoft, Customer Relationship Management System (admissions, financial aid, security, communication modules). Experience in Admissions and recruiting. Familiarity with the concepts of marketing and advertising in higher education. In depth knowledge of information technology as it relates to the higher education admissions and financial aid processes, including but not limited to: administration of electronic data management systems, supervising and coordinating admissions and financial aid related data processes and procedures, updates, testing and enhancements, electronic admissions system, data correction and reconciliation, website and online mechanisms, and admissions and financial aid data analysis and reporting.
