POSITION SUMMARY


RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will assist the Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will all areas of the University of New Orleans Division I tennis programs.  The position responsibilities will include instruction, development, preparation, recruitment and retention of men's & women's tennis student-athletes.  The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will also assist with all program-related administrative duties including but not limited to the preparation and submission of travel authorizations, travel vouchers, purchasing requests, work orders, official & unofficial visit approvals and team travel itineraries.  The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will schedule and plan travel for both teams. 

The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will be expected to be present for all home matches and tournaments as well as travel with one or both teams to matches away from the home facility.  The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach may assist with scheduling, fundraising and management of the UNO Tennis Center.  Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or the Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach.

The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will be expected to maintain compliance with NCAA, Southland Conference and UNO Athletics rules and regulations.  The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach must adhere to UNO, UL System and state of Louisiana policies and procedures while promoting the advancement of the University's mission through successful tennis programs comprised of student-athletes who consistently demonstrate the commitment to academic excellence and service to our community.

The Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach will conduct herself/himself in an ethical manner in accordance with the standards established by the NCAA, University of New Orleans and state of Louisiana.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree; 1-3 years tennis coaching or teaching experience; working knowledge of and commitment to NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations; proven ability to build rapport and collaborative relationships with fellow coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni and student-athletes; strong administrative and organizational skills. ​


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree; 2-4 years professional experience as a college tennis coach. ​


SALARY

Commensurate with experience
