Event Services Coordinator

​Event Coordination: Act as coordinator / liaison between client and event staff, campus police, security, janitorial, parking , facilities, catering, EMT, IT and any other partners deemed necessary for a particular event. Coordinate all aspects of event which may include set-up, tear-down, and any other event related functions. Work in conjunction with customers and vendors to determine and facilitate catering needs. Oversee A/V for events: projectors, sound equipment, microphones, DVD players, and more. Contracts, Insurance, and Indemnification: Generate and process all contracts, insurance, and indemnification for both UNO community and general public. Meet with and collect appropriate paperwork from each individual or group using facilities for non-academic use. Maintain all paperwork in an organized manner to assist with future events. Identify and/or recruit part time and student worker employees to work events. Oversee the training and supervision of all student employees. Client Relations: Schedule and meet with clients to discuss events and accurately supply them with needed information to ensure event success. Build relationships with clients to facilitate referrals and repeat business. Additional duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree. Ability to communicate professionally in writing and in person. Must posess well developed organizational skills. Experience in computer software programs. Ability to think quickly and independently to solve event related problems. Ability to motivate staff and direct people in a variety of tasks. Ability to maintain records of all events and properly organize for future reference. Willingness to do any and all tasks related to facility management (i.e. set-up tables, chairs, cleaning, etc.). Ability to effectively work with on campus partners and venbdors. Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Knowledge and experience in conference/event management (i.e. event coordination, staffing, proper facility procedures). Customer service/sales experience and client relationship development.


Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
