Coordinator for Campus Programs

Reporting to the Director of Student Involvement and Leadership, the Coordinator for Campus Programs plans, organizes, and implements events and activities that enhance the student experience and strengthen the university retention objectives, focusing on weekend, evening programs, and special events. These include, but are not limited to the University events such as: Welcome Week, Privateer Plunge, Homecoming, Senior Week, and special programming at the Cove and in housing. This position serves as primary advisor for the Student Activities Council (the university programming board), oversees commuter outreach, and assists with student organization management.


Provide advisory support to the university programming board, including the executive officers and general membership. Advise students, oversee event calendar, manage events. Provide ongoing leadership and educational training and programming that encourages meaningful student engagement and success within a context of diversity and inclusion Oversee commuter student services, maintaining off-campus resources, and programs and initiatives directed to increasing the engagement of nonresidential students. Develop learning outcomes and conduct the assessment process. Manage and maintain budget for programs; negotiate contracts. Assist and provide support with departmental and divisional initiatives; serve on university committees; and other duties as assigned. Much evening and weekend work required.


Bachelor's Degree. Demonstrated experience in student activities. Experience with event planning and organization advisement.


• Master's Degree in higher education administration, college student personnel or similar field. • Personal commitment to working with and supporting diverse groups and individuals. Ability to work with university, community and campus constituents and establishing cooperative relationships with each. Ability to identify, develop and promote involvement and leadership opportunities for all students. Ability to understand and interpret policies, knowledge of risk management, experiential learning, assessment techniques and diversity in higher education. Experience speaking to large groups and excellent oral and written communication skills. • Capacity to multi-task complex assignments in a fast paced environment.


Up to $38,000, commensurate with experience.
