POSITION SUMMARY

Full time teaching position


RESPONSIBILITIES

50% Intensive English Language Program • Instruct and evaluate IELP students at multiple areas and skill levels • Prepare instructional material for level and skill areas in IELP • Attend and participate in IELP student functions, staff meetings, extra-curricular activities, assist in evaluation and placement/end-of-session testing • Maintain office hours and perform other duties related to the instructional program 50% English 1002 • Instruct and evaluate up to 3 sections of ENGL 1002, a co-curricular course for international students offered by the English Department • Maintain office hours • Perform administrative duties as required by the English Department and the Registrar • Serve as a liaison between the IELP and the English Department • Attend trainings and meetings as required by the English Department • Observe related English courses as necessary to maintain the ENGL 1002 curriculum


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL), Applied Linguistics, or English and 2 years of ESL teaching experience either in an intensive English program or a college/university


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3 years teaching experience, ability to teach and interact in a multicultural setting, and proficiency in a second language


SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
