POSITION SUMMARY

(1 Position located in Baton Rouge)


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide assistance as needed to Pharmacy Program Pharmacists and Pharmacy Support Supervisor, including, but not limited to, performing mail outs, data entry, provider calls, information requests, and policy and programmatic research. • Conduct special data analysis projects pertaining to the pharmacy program as requested. • Develop new procedures and reporting protocols in response to requests from LDH and/or UNO management. • Assess the impact of changes in state and federal regulations to Medicaid Pharmacy Program operations and assist with the development, implementation, and compliance monitoring of related Medicaid program policies. • Resolve customer and provider relations issues and assist other pharmacy support personnel with difficult issues. • Perform Fiscal Intermediary duties such as processing financial recoveries from providers and processing drug manufacturer payments. • Ensure that the Pharmacy Helpdesk Hotline is always covered, assist with problem calls, and provide backup assistance with call overflow. • Assist staff with complex pharmacy program questions and technical issues. This includes working with the Database Administration group in improving and editing current reports and programs that are used by all Pharmacy staff. • Manage assigned projects and ensure that project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. • Conduct financial analysis and perform special data analysis projects pertaining to the pharmacy program as requested. • Conduct periodic reviews of pharmacy claims to assess adherence to Medicaid program policies and procedures. • Oversee and assist subordinates with questions and/or issues that arise. • Review subordinates’ assigned projects to ensure that they are completed accurately. • Conduct an annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategies. • Conduct recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staff and new hires. • Assist with maintaining updates to policies, procedures, and training manual; disseminate any changes to employees. • Assist the supervisor in the compilation of statistics and monthly reports. • Other tasks as directed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree. • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in policy, data analysis, claims monitoring/processing, accounting, or auditing. • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel. • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills. • Great attention to detail and follow up, and verbal/written communications skills.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree. • Supervisory experience. • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a policy, data analysis, claims monitoring/processing, accounting, or auditing. • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in health care field or federal/state health care program support. • Knowledge of Medicaid Policy or Pharmacy Drug Rebate Program. • Experience with data analysis and research. • CPT, ICD­9 and ICD­10 coding and HCPCS knowledge. • CHDA, HIM, RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CMA, CPA, CIA, CGAP, HFMA or other relevant industry certifications.


SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
