POSITION SUMMARY

(1 position located in Lake Charles)


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee a team of Medicaid Eligibility Coordinators and collaborate with the DHH regional managers and/or supervisors to ensure that employees are meeting expectations. • Assist in the development of standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective operations. • Coordinate and participate in monthly meetings with the LDH regional administrator and/or supervisors that functionally oversee UNO employees. • Perform special projects for DHH’s regional managers and supervisors. • Assist the Medicaid Regional Administrators and LDH supervisors in: • Conducting needs assessment for training and staff development. • Ensuring strict adherence to all rules, and regulations, policies and procedures in the LDH unit. • Ensuring that work production and quality meet management’s established targets. • Planning and coordinating training and equipment needs. • Coordinate with the UNO contract’s upper management and contract support/HR staff to ensure that all administrative paperwork is completed and processed correctly, and set up the new employees’ work stations. • Communicate staff equipment and supply needs to the UNO Eligibility Business Administrator. • Manage and report on all weekly/monthly activities of subordinates; work with LDH in assessing any issues and brainstorming possible resolutions to issues. • Perform counseling sessions with employees regarding University policies and employee expectations. • As requested, travel to different regional offices to help facilitate interviews and help with the coordination of the new hire selection and interview process, and coordinate the scheduling of interviews with participating DHH staff. • Perform administrative duties in collecting employee payroll documentation and leave slips. • Assist with creating and maintaining business process documentation and ensuring that any procedures, manuals and overall organization of units are efficiently organized and up‐to‐date. • Assist Medicaid Regional Administrators and supervisors with any employee behavior issues and participate in disciplinary meetings held with UNO employees. • Meet with employees’ LDH supervisor that they functionally report to and conduct a mid-year and annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategies. • Conduct recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staff. • Other tasks as directed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or 6 years of professional work experience in lieu of degree. • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills. • Great attention to detail and follow up, and verbal/written communications skills. • Minimum 2 years of professional experience.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Vietnamese. • 1 year supervisory experience. • 2 years of professional experience working Medicaid/CHIP eligibility cases.
