IT Support– Coordinator 1 (Service Desk Technician)

POSITION #:  0305 (Position located in Alexandria)


DEPARTMENT:  
Medicaid Technical Services Contract – IT Support

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Record service calls in web‐based tracking system and utilize system to close out tickets that have been submitted and completed.
  • Assist users with functions of application programs and operational problems that arise.
  • Perform basic set up of PCs and installation of operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot PC and other equipment failures to determine the cause of errors and malfunctions.
  • Document network‐related problems for follow‐up by network technicians and complete special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Train users in basic hardware and software functions that are utilized.
  • Travel to various sites.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems and Decision Sciences, or related field.
  • Must be dependable, have a positive attitude, be a “team player”, and be able to manage multiple client projects/issues simultaneously, work independently, maintain good records, and work well under pressure.
  • Experience with Windows XP & 7 including installation, system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Possess excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, communication and organizational skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with various computer hardware, such as desktop and laptop computers, routers, switches, & servers.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations, MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certified.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
