Assistant Volleyball Coach (Indoor and Sand)

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

Assist in on-the-floor coaching during practices and games. Play an active role in team travel, scheduling, and team practice sessions. Planning and conducting conditioning sessions for student-athletes for the indoor and sand team. Assist in overseeing student-athletes' academic progress by monitoring and enforcing policies established by the athletic department. Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes and coordinating/communicating schedules and changes. Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Assist with the scouting, recruiting and retention of student-athletes. Hosting/planning unofficial and official visits for all prospects.
Assist in promotional and public relations activities. Help plan and promote summer camps.
Represent UNO in a positive manner at any events on or off campus. Employee shall at all times abide by rules and regulations of the NCAA and Division I with respect to the administration of the University's athletic program. Employee shall at all times conduct themselves in an ethical manner in association with the standards set forth by NCAA Bylaws and University policies and procedures.

Minimum of Bachelor's degree; Ability to recruit top quality student-athletes; Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with rules, regulations and policies of the NCAA and University of New Orleans; Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with student-athletes, administration, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public; Proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills.

Masters' Degree; Demonstrated public relations skills; Coaching and administrative experience with summer camps; Knowledge of higher education and intercollegiate athletic department procedures; Previous high school or collegiate-level coaching experience with a successful program.

SALARY: Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.
