Assistant Director and Coordinator of Training

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the Assistant Director's role is integral to the daily operations of the center. UNO Counseling Services focuses on improving personal and academic functioning of UNO students, and provides a clinical training site for graduate students in mental health professions. The primary function of Counseling Services is to assist students with personal difficulties in a professional, unbiased, objective way to promote personal growth in self-awareness, self-management, self-confidence and interpersonal skills. It is an accredited university counseling center, maintaining the highest level of standards as set forth by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc. and held by the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the Assistant Director's role is integral to the daily operations of the center, which is an accredited university counseling center, maintaining the highest level of standards as set forth by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc. and held by the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling with a full, unrestricted license to practice independently in the state of Louisiana; a minimum of three years of clinical experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work with five years of university counseling center experience; experience developing and coordinating a graduate level behavioral health internship program that included direct clinical supervision of graduate level interns; experience with electronic scheduling and documentation software; experience working with a diverse non-traditional student population; excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation/public speaking skills; experience with data collection and analysis software (e.g., SPSS).

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
