Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate AD for Internal Operations will:

  • Supervise all aspects of UNO Athletics facilities and facility management to include scheduling, maintenance and personnel staffing. Serve as UNO Athletics liaison with campus facility services.
  • Supervise and manage game and event operations including coordination of game day staffing, visiting team liaison, game officials liaison and other responsibilities associated with UNO event management.
  • Manage student-athlete support and team support operations including sports medicine, equipment management, strength and conditioning.
  • Oversee construction and renovation of existing and new athletics facilities.
  • Assist Director of Athletics with department budgeting including management of sport specific and support program expenses.
  • Supervise special projects and represent UNO Athletics in community partnership initiatives as needed.
  • Represent UNO Athletics at Southland Conference meetings/events in absence of Director of Athletics and as requested by Director of Athletics.
  • Represent UNO Athletics at special events as requested by Director of Athletics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
  • Manage daily operations of UNO Athletics in absence of Director of Athletics and as requested by Director of Athletics.

Employee shall at all times abide by rules and regulations of the NCAA and Southland Conference with respect to the administration of the University's Division I Intercollegiate Athletics program. Furthermore, employee, as a representative of UNO, UNO Athletics and the UL System, shall conduct herself/himself in an ethical and dignified manner as outlined by the standards of the University of New Orleans and the University of Louisiana System.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years experience in athletic administration at the collegiate level. Must have a record of academic and ethical integrity, and exceptional written and oral communication and public presentation skills. Experience in facilities management and game operations in addition to a proven ability to maintain fiscal integrity of the athletic program. Possess exceptional organizational skills, be capable of handling multiple tasks and be able to maintain the efficient administration of day-to-day operations. The ability to work effectively with students, staff, and alumni is important. Positive understanding of and commitment to maintaining NCAA Division I rules and regulations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree and eight (8) years experience as a senior level administrator within a Division I Intercollegiate Athletics Department.

SALARY: Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.
