Network Engineer

- 55% Administration and installation of network systems required to build and maintain the campus local area (Ethernet, TCP/IP) and wireless (802.11b/g/n based) networks consisting of over 500 switches, 400 APs, UPS's, power injector modules and the network core. This position will be directly responsible for the stability and integrity of data, VoIP, and video services on the campus network. Reports to Senior Network Engineer.
- 30% Network problem resolution for campus network systems, including analysis, troubleshooting and solution implementation. This includes network connectivity, performance, and security issues for wired and wireless networks.
- 10% Maintenance of documentation and provide end user training, where required, in support of network support activities
- 5% Assisting Enterprise Networks management with special projects.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of Network Engineering and/or Network Support experience.
- Ability to configure and manage: Cisco switches and other Cisco product lines– including network core electronics, APs, Network Appliances.
- Ability to maintain and configure: Active Directory, MAC filtering and authentication, Network Firewalls, Windows DHCP server

Master's Degree and Experience configuring and maintaining:
- CCNA Cisco Certification
- Cisco 2950, 2960, 3560, 3750, 4500, 6500 Series switches
- Cisco NAC Guest Server, Cisco ASA firewall, Cisco PRIME infrastructure software
- Allot NetEnforcer
- Legacy Nortel and Marconi switches
- Complete understanding of ACLs – Network Security, Spanning Tree, IP Routing, Port Channels-Aggregate connections,
- Port Mirroring (SPAN), Access Port Edge Protection, Fiber Optic ModulesGBIC, Xenpac, X2, SFP, PoE and Firmware Upgrades
- Netflow management
- Polycom VoIP phones
- Windows Powershell scripting
