Assistant Director – Medicaid Support

DEPARTMENT: Medicaid Services Contract

• Manage and provide oversight to departments as requested.
• Work closely with DHH section leads to identify project tasks and timelines.
• Assist in the development of standards, procedures, long and short range plans and best practices to ensure efficient and effective division operations.
• Assist with employment related issues.
• Create and maintain business process documentation. Compile project status reports and provide status deliverables to UNO and DHH stakeholders.
• Act as primary project status resource to DHH section leads and program managers.
• Meet with DHH Staff to discuss their needs for expansion, change or deletion of projects.
• Work with other departments as needed to provide necessary support.
• Assist department leaders in formulating project requirements and scope.
• Work with team supervisors in ensuring that any procedures, manuals and overall organization of units are efficiently organized and up‐to‐date. Provide employee guidance as needed.
• Work with the Medicaid Director to troubleshoot and resolve any customer staff complaints.
• Conduct an annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategies.
• Conduct recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staff.
• Work on special contract and/or Medicaid related projects as designated.
• Other tasks as directed.

• Bachelor's degree or 8 years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Medicaid or healthcare environment.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to be diplomatic in problematic situations.
• Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
• Great attention to detail and follow up, and verbal/written communications skills.

• Advanced degree.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Medicaid or healthcare environment.
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience.
• Pharmacy, project management, or compliance/procurement related experience.
• Professional experience in health care field or Medicaid program support.
• Relevant industry certifications.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
