Internal Auditor

DEPARTMENT: Office of Internal Audit

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position includes the following duties:

Prepare audit programs and performing audit fieldwork in conformance with audit programs. Conduct compliance, operational, financial or information technology audits or may assist with complex audits while under the direction of a higher level auditor.

Finalize all work papers and communicating results via a well-documented audit report. Write draft audit reports to submit for review to the Director of Internal Audit or Senior Auditor.

Assist with the University-wide annual risk assessment. Participate in researching current trends in Internal Auditing, preparing a financial analysis of the University's financial statements and conducting interviews with senior management.

Research pertinent material, including University and System policies, best practices and state or federal regulations.

Conduct entrance and exit interviews. Prepare, conduct and answer questions about the audit with the department and/or President.

Perform other related work assigned by the President, System or Director of Internal Audit.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field with a minimum of one year of equivalent work experience in accounting or auditing.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
