Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Enrichment

DEPARTMENT: IntercollegiateAthletics

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for management and advancement of the following areas within the department of intercollegiate athletics: academic support and experience enhancement for student-athletes; CHAMPS Life Skills program, Privateer Community Outreach program and other duties associated with student-athletes enrichment. Coordinate the academic support functions for all student-athletes including academic counseling, class scheduling, career planning, study hall and tutor management and serve as liaison with NCAA for APR processing and oversight. Organize and program the CHAMPS Life Skills program. Manage a Privateer Community Outreach program whereby student-athletes can appreciate the value of sharing their gifts with those in need. Employee will represent UNO in a positive manner at any events on or off campus. 

Employee shall at all times abide by rules and regulations of the NCAA and Division I with respect to the administration of the University's athletic program. Employee shall at all times conduct themselves in an ethical manner in association with the standards set forth by NCAA Bylaws and University policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and 2 years professional experience in an administrative position within a four-year university. Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with rules, regulations and policies of the NCAA.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree. Four years of experience in an NCAA Division I athletic department or conference office. Demonstrated experience in counseling or advising. Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
