Assistant Baseball Coach

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist in on-the-field coaching during practices and games. Play in active role in team travel and conditioning of student-athletes. Assist in overseeing student-athletes' academic progress. Work closely with the athletic training staff to insure the safety of all student-athletes. Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Assist with the scouting, recruiting and retention of student-athletes.

Assist in promotional and public relations activities. Help plan and promote summer camps.

Represent UNO in a positive manner at any events on or off campus. Employee shall at all times abide by rules and regulations of the NCAA and Division I with respect to the administration of the University's athletic program. Employee shall at all times conduct themselves in an ethical manner in association with the standards set forth by NCAA Bylaws and University policies and procedures.


Proven experience as a Division I and/or professional baseball coach and/or player; Ability to recruit top quality student-athletes; Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with rules, regulations and policies of the NCAA and University of New Orleans; Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with student-athletes, administration, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public; Proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills.


Masters' Degree; Knowledge of higher education and intercollegiate athletic department procedures; previous high school or collegiate-level coaching experience with a successful program.
