Programmer/Web Developer

DEPARTMENT: University Computing & Communications

The University of New Orleans is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Programmer/Web Developer under Administrative Computing Services (ACS), a division of University Computing and Communications (UCC). The Programmer/Web Developer will support applications using PeopleSoft, Sharepoint, Dot Net, and other languages.


Support Dot Net Nuke programming.Develop web based programs such as Non Credit Course Registration and Book Adoption system for the Bookstore.Support Sharepoint InfoPath forms processing, including Workflow and interfaces to PeopleSoft and web services.Develop and maintain SQRs, queries and pages for the PeopleSoft system. Analyzing requests, writing new program specs and change request specs.Perform related duties as required


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Work experience in field of computer study can be substituted for a degree on a year to year equivalency.Knowledge of programming languages such as SQR, COBOL, or SQL.Knowledge of web based programming using Java or Dot Net.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server databases. Good oral and written communications skills. Experience creating PeopleSoft pages, writing SQRs and developing a PeopleSoft Project from the design phase through the implementation phase. Experience designing and creating a web based system that interface with PeopleSoft.
