Reception Services Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Enrollment Services

POSITION SUMMARY: The Reception Services Assistant reports to the Associate Director for Student Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to greeting and screening all walk-in visitors to the Office of Enrollment Services. This entails being knowledgeable about all areas of Admissions, Financial Aid, New Student Orientation, First Year Experience and First Year Advising. The Reception Services Assistant must inform applicants, students, parents and all general prospects about admission application processing and financial aid awards. Must know the major functions, locations, and contact information of: Student Health, Office of the Bursar, Registra, Student Affairs, Student Activities, Disability Services, Athletics, Career Development, Residential Life, Veterans Affairs, Testing Services and University Computing Services.


Counsel and advise current and prospective students to resolve enrollment services issues. Screen/monitor walk-in appointments and designate person to the appropriate representative. Maintain monthly statistical report of specific data.  Monitor evaluation/surveys submitted by customers. Direct students and/or parents as they enter the registration area to make certain that they are in the appropriate area and/or line.Develop the required knowledge base to serve as a resource to all students coming to the Student Enrollment Services Center. Actively seek out this knowledge and take advantage of opportunities to grow professionally.Performs other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's Degree.  Customer service experience; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.


Experience working in Enrollment Services. Technical experience working with PeopleSoft computer software and other software applications.
