The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is offering Professional Development sessions to further the research effort at the University of New Orleans. The goals of these sessions are to provide the necessary tools for the faculty and staff to apply for outside funding and then to manage the funding. On-line sessions are offered for convenience; live sessions will be offered periodically or on demand. Refer to the Research calendar for dates and times of live sessions when scheduled.

Advanced Project ID* Do you need to start your grant and have access to your funds now? Attend this session to learn how to get your speed key with a notice of award from the sponsor without having to wait for the contract to be fully executed.
Audit Survival* An auditor calls – what do you do? Learn some tips on how to survive an audit.
Budget Preparation* Learn how to develop a budget quickly and easily.
Closeout* Your award is expiring – what close out steps are there?
Cost Share* This session will provide an overview of cost share and your requirements for spending.
Participant Costs* This session will define participants and discuss how to budget for their costs.
PeopleSoft Milestones* How do those PeopleSoft emails help me? How can I best use them?
PeopleSoft Reports/Queries* PeopleSoft Reports and Queries can help you, or your staff, monitor grant spending.
Proposal Writing* This session will provide some suggestions and recommendations to improve your chances of getting funding.
Research Funding Basics* We highlight everything from obtaining to spending sponsored funding.
Research Jeopardy This is a fun, interactive session to test your knowledge of research monitoring and spending by playing Jeopardy.

Responsible Conduct of Research - Ethics Case Discussion In groups, attendees discuss ethical issues in a case study. Each group gives a short summary of their discussion to all attendees.
Routing Form* Routing forms can make grants submissions easier – when fully utilized.
Subcontract Process* You function as the sponsor on subawards and this training session lets you know the steps required.
The on-line sessions (marked with an asterisk) can be completed through our SharePoint Research site under forms. Use the Research Training form. In order to receive credit for completing the on-line session, the session's quiz must be passed with a score of at least 80.

All individuals who have received outside funding or manage outside funding for someone else will benefit from these sessions. New faculty and staff are encouraged to view the on-line sessions or attend the live sessions when scheduled.
