Students, Faculty and Staff,

I’d like to welcome you back to campus for the spring semester!

The beginning of a semester is always an exciting time as students and faculty fill the halls and classrooms, activity returns to campus and learning resumes. Just being here and feeling the energy has already been invigorating. I am thrilled to be here with you.

My first week as UNO’s president has been exciting and full. I started my first day by greeting students and welcoming them back to campus last Tuesday morning. Not only was that a great way to start my new job, but I hope it demonstrates, in some small way, that our university-wide priority has to be our students. The welfare of our students must be at the center of every decision that we make. I promise that, as president, I will never lose sight of that. The time I spent with students on Tuesday is just the beginning. You all will see a great deal of me on campus. Please take the time to say hello and share your feedback, good or bad. I want to hear how things are going.

UNO is a fantastic place, but it can be even better. In the coming weeks and months, there will be changes, both big and small. These changes will always be focused on serving our students better and establishing our opportunities for long-term success. If you have thoughts on how we can improve UNO, we want to know. There is a student feedback button on the “Current Students” page of the website. Let us know how we are doing and what we can do better.

I hope your semester is off to a good start. I am excited to serve you and this institution as your president, and I want you to know that I am here for you—students, faculty and staff. I will work tirelessly each day to ensure UNO is a university we can always be proud of.
