Training, Resource and Assistive Technology Center (TRAC)

The University of New Orleans Training, Resource and Assistive-technology Center (TRAC) provides quality services to persons with disabilities, rehabilitation professionals, educators and employers. UNO TRAC has built a solid reputation for its innovative training programs and community outreach efforts. The Center is recognized as a valuable resource statewide, nationally and internationally on disability issues. Assessment for Assistive Technology & Job-Site Accommodations

Services include evaluating technology accommodation for individuals at the Center's Lab or at the job site

Computer skills evaluation

Assess individual's knowledge and skills regarding computers and business-related software

Assistive technology assessments

Various assistive technology tools are demonstrated and evaluated to determine if these devices can be appropriate accommodations for training, education or employment

ExcEL –Self Employment Training

  • Training for entrepreneurship and self-employment, including a tool chest of strategies for assessing self-employment potential
  • Self-employment workshop provides a realistic overview, including benefits, drawbacks, and stringent requirements
  • Intensive, in-depth training for clients screened for self-employment potential
  • Develop a follow-up, on-site support program that includes resources and technical assistance

Disability Awareness

In many situations, TRAC can help keep a person on the job with assistive technology and training

TRAC Computer Training

  • Training in computers and assistive technology to persons with visual, learning, and physical disabilities
  • Classroom or individualized format with screen reading software
