About
Aaron Rushin, Computer & Film Equipment Technician for the Dept. of Film & Theatre, is the producer/director of more than 15 short films/music videos that have screened at film festivals all over world. He is a filmmaker in his spare time while managing the Dept. of Film & Theatre's Equipment Room as well as performing computer IT work for the department and teaching several sections every semester of the equipment lab that is required in conjunction with Intermediate Film Production. He grew up in St. Joseph, MO where he attended Missouri Western State University on a golf scholarship. He graduated with degrees in English and Video Production and eventually began working as a commercial producer/director for KQTV channel 2 in St. Joseph, MO. From there he was accepted into the M.F.A in Film Production program at UNO and graduated in 2000. After receiving his degree, Aaron continued to work freelance in the film and video industry in New Orleans while in 1993 creating a non-profit, Timecode NOLA, Inc., with some friends that is dedicated to helping independent filmmakers get their work seen to a greater audience that continues on to this day. Along with his duties at UNO, Aaron continues to makes films, assist filmmakers, and attempts to lower his golf handicap.
