In the time of reconstruction following the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina, a number of Brazilian immigrants relocated to New Orleans, establishing their own immigrant network in the city. Post-Katrina Brazucas examines how this network developed from 2005 to the present and how Brazilians “performed” their presence in their new home. While rebuilding a devastated city, Brazilians created a new enclave in New Orleans and created hybrid forms of Brazilian-New Orleanian cultural expression.
