Message from the President
Dear Campus Community,
Due to the anticipated impacts of Hurricane Francine, tomorrow (Thursday, September 12) will be an Emergency Closure Day and classes will be canceled. Francine is expected to come ashore in Southeast Louisiana this evening as a Category 1 hurricane with strong winds and heavy rain. Power outages in metro New Orleans are possible, which is why we have made the decision to cancel classes tomorrow, instead of delivering them remotely. Our plan is to resume normal operations and in-person classes on Friday, September 13. If that changes, we will communicate to you via Privateer Alerts, email, the website, social media and the news media.
We appreciate all of our staff members who continue to support our students throughout this event. I will be in touch with any updates as necessary. Please stay safe, stay indoors, and look out for your fellow Privateers.
Sincerely,
Kathy Johnson, Ph.D.
President
