The Department of Economics and Finance is a part of UNO’s Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The Department offers highly reputable degree programs designed to prepare our students to work in business, non-profits, government organizations, and more.

We offer three degree programs:

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Finance
• Doctoral of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) in Financial Economics
• Masters of Science (MS) in Finance

Both the B.S. and Ph.D. programs offer a variety of courses in specialized fields for students to pursue their specific interests and goals. 

Our department was ranked 76 in the country in research by an article in the Journal of Finance. Our faculty have frequently won teaching awards, provided leadership in professional organizations and industry, and are committed to the success of our students. The Department publishes a highly respected journal: The Review of Financial Economics.
