Civil engineers play a vital role in the development and improvement of a society and in enhancing quality of life.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.). Within the B.S.E.E. degree, students have the option to pursue a concentration in computer engineering. Graduates have an array of job opportunities with companies in well-established industries like energy, defense, communications and design.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers prepares students to meet the needs of regional petrochemical, aerospace, manufacturing and oil industries by employing emerging technologies in the classroom and in research settings.
The Boysie Bollinger School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) was established to meet local industry demand. It was a natural outgrowth of our resource-rich region and the depth of UNO’s engineering expertise. Since its founding, NAME has continued to grow in size and reputation and we now sit high on the list of select schools in the nation (and the only one in the Gulf region) where students can learn to build ships and other self-sustaining offshore structures.
