AMRI’s tenants are independent startup companies that rent space in the institute as they collaborate with AMRI faculty and utilize AMRI equipment holdings. Companies have both contracts and joint research grants with AMRI faculty. Excitingly, collaborative research and educational programs, some unrelated to the main thrusts of the faculty and the tenant’s research, naturally develop from the close proximity of AMRI faculty and startup scientists.
InnoGenomics. Developing DNA testing kits that advance forensics and medical testing – “to solve crimes and save lives.”
Cadex Genomics. Cadex Genomics is developing molecular assays for improved, affordable care for advanced stage cancer patients.
Obatala Sciences/LaCell. This company is helping to advance tissue engineering and regenerative medicine through the use of innovative 3D culture solutions. These products allow for more accurate in vitro models of human response via human-derived cell cultures.
TMS Bioscience is a clinical laboratory that provides specialty testing for a variety of patients and companies via tandem mass spectroscopy. They are also developing new medical materials with antimicrobial properties.
Bastian Enterprises is a small company looking to tackle issues pertinent to the treatment, testing, and eradication of chronic wasting disease (CWD). This degenerative affliction adversely impacts a wide range of deer, elk, moose and caribou populations in the United States and Canada.
