Qualifying for University Honors Program
Incoming first-year students will be invited to participate in the honors program if they have a composite ACT score of 26, or an ACT English section score of 28, or an ACT Math section score of 28, or a SAT score of 1170 (from two sections in MATH and CRITICAL READING).
Continuing students (second semester and beyond) and transfer students will be invited with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and above.
Graduating with University Honors
To graduate with University Honors, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- maintain a 3.5 GPA in their major and 3.25 GPA overall;
- complete 18 credit hours of honors-qualifying coursework.
To graduate with the designation "University Honors With Thesis," students must fulfill the following additional requirements:
3. complete the six-credit hour senior honors thesis course in their major (which will also apply toward the 18 credit hours of honors-qualifying coursework).
Students who intend to graduate with the designation "University Honors With Thesis" should contact the University Honors Program office as early as possible and no later than the end of their junior year to discuss the senior honors thesis process.
