How many passwords do I have?
UNO faculty, staff, and student accounts get a single password for services like Email, LAN, and Workday. When you update your UNO password, it also changes for all of your UNO applications (such as Canvas, Email, and UNO Wifi access, etc.). Remember, IT never ask for your password by email. You won't get emails from us asking for password or account details.

How do I get my username and password?
Every account has the same username and starting password. New students get this info in a welcome email sent to their personal email. You can also get your username and password by reaching out to the IT Help Desk, either in person, by phone, or through our chat.

Your email account is automatically created once you have been admitted into the University. You can log into it by typing your username@uno.edu and your LAN password into the correct fields.

How do I get Library Database passwords?
The UNO Library “PIN” is needed to access your library account to access databases from off-campus and to pay library fees and fines.
What to do If you do not know your Library “PIN.”
Click the RESET MY PIN link and then enter your 7-digit UNO ID number + 00 (example: 123456700). A reset link will be sent to your UNO email account.

What is Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)?
The Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) lets you change your password on your own. You need to link an alternate email or phone number to your UNO account first. Contact the IT Help Desk if you need help setting this up.

Will I be informed about when my password is going to expire? If so will it tell me how to change it?
When you sign into your email via Microsoft 365 Web Outlook application, a message will show up at the top telling you if your password is about to expire. You'll also get an email when your password has 7 days left.

Can I have a different password for my outlook email account and my Workday account?
Unfortunately, you cannot. Each time you update your password, it automatically synchronizes across Canvas, Workday, Email, and every other UNO application. Seamless security, in one step.
