Writing Resources
Nobody, of course, has ever learned to write "from a book." However, writing is not an obscure art open only to those lucky enough to be "talented" or "gifted." Writing is a skill, and, like artisans in other fields, writers learn their craft by practicing, by experimenting, and by taking chances. However, knowing how experienced writers "do it" can save students of writing a lot of frustrating trials and errors.
The following documents contain some helpful tips about different stages of the writing process. If, however, you find yourself still struggling with your assignment, call the Writing Center at 280-7054 to make an appointment with a writing tutor! Think of tutors as "personal trainers" who will help you improve your writing skills because they can gauge where you are right now and can help you reach the next level in your writing.
