UNO College of Business Administration Spring Honors Convocation
The University of New Orleans' College of Business Administration presented 160 awards, scholarships, grants and certificates of recognition on Wednesday.
COBA's annual Honors Convocation, held May 1 in the University's Homer L. Hitt Alumni and Visitors Center on main campus recognized outstanding undergraduate and graduate students for achievements in business.
Undergraduates Carmon Chord and Bellakarina Solorzano Piedrahita received the College of Business Faculty Award honoring them as the College's 2012-2013 Top Bachelor of Science graduates. The two women achieved the highest academic excellence in the College among undergraduates, achieving grade point averages of 4.0.
Chord also received the UNO Women's Club Outstanding Business Woman Graduate Award, Top Graduating Senior Award and a COBA Star Award. Piedrahita received the Irwin Brown Company Top Graduating Student with a B.S. Award in Marketing.
COBA Dean John A. Williams gave opening remarks. Nathan Lawrence and Victoria Duffourc served as master of ceremonies. Williams also presented 17 Master's in Business Administration Academic Excellence Awards, four Master's in Healthcare Management Academic Excellence Awards, one Masters in Accounting Academic Excellence Award and four Masters in Hospitality, Restaurants and Tourism Academic Excellence Awards. All recipients attained GPA's of 4.0.
