The University of New Orleans and its executive partner, Latter & Blum, Inc., will present the annual Dr. Ivan Miestchovich Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar for the North Shore region on Friday, May 10. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington. Registration and networking begin at 8:30 a.m. The annual seminar, moderated by Robert Penick, director of the Institute for Economic Development and Real Estate Research, brings together people from a wide cross-section of the regional business, professional and civic communities.
To open the seminar, Ginger Cangelosi, executive director of the Tangipahoa Economic Development Foundation, and Chris Masingill, CEO of St. Tammany Corporation, will discuss the North Shore regional economy.
The subsequent panel will focus on commercial trends and outlooks for the retail, office and industrial real estate markets on the North Shore. Commercial speakers will include Ryan Pearce, commercial and sales leasing associate with NAI Latter & Blum; Michelle Lawson, owner/principal architect of Greenleaf Lawson Architects; and Patrick Descant, vice president of preconstruction services with DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc.
The seminar will conclude with overviews of market-rate multifamily housing from Larry Schedler, president of Larry G. Schedler & Associates, Inc,; multifamily new construction from McDaniel Wyatt, regional business developer for Humphreys & Partners Architects; and single family residential housing from Priscilla Morse, managing broker for Latter & Blum Inc. in Mandeville.
