Peter Webb, a research assistant with the University of New Orleans Transportation Institute, has won a national award from the Council of University Transportation Centers, which is part of the National Academy of Sciences. The Charley V. Wootan Memorial Award is given annually for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of policy and planning in transportation studies.
Webb, who graduated from UNO with a doctorate in urban studies and a focus on urban anthropology in December 2018, is being recognized for his dissertation, “New Orleans: A Living Laboratory Dueling Narratives-Tourism vs. Freight.”
Webb will be honored at the Council of University Transportation Centers’ annual banquet on Jan. 11, 2020 in Washington, D.C.
