The University of New Orleans bachelor’s degree in healthcare management has earned national certification from the Association of University Programs in Healthcare Management (AUPHA), making it one of only 51 fully certified programs in the nation and the only program in the Gulf South region that is also part of an AACSB-accredited College of Business.
“AUPHA’s certification process is a rigorous and robust peer-review process that focuses on both meeting standards and orientation toward program improvement,” said Daniel Gentry, CEO of AUPHA. “AUPHA applauds UNO’s commitment to excellence in healthcare management education.”
The program is housed in UNO’s College of Business Administration, which holds AACSB accreditations in both business and accounting.
Donald L. Zimmerman, healthcare management professor and founder of the program, applauded UNO’s students, faculty, administrators and staff in helping the program gain national certification.
“We are UNO proud of our students, faculty, administrators and members of the New Orleans health community in helping our program achieve recognition as one of only 51 fully certified programs in the nation and the only program in the Gulf South region that is also part of an AACSB-accredited College of Business,” Zimmerman said. “Earning national certification was a long and difficult process. We are not only a better program but are now recognized as one of the best in the nation because of it.”
