The University of New Orleans Institute for Economic Development & Real Estate Research will host its 11th annual Dr. Ivan Miestchovich Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar for the North Shore on May 2, 2023. The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Benedict’s in Mandeville, located at 1144 N. Causeway Blvd.
The North Shore seminar will begin with a presentation on “The Port of New Orleans North Shore Connection” by Amanda Coates, director of trade and economic development at the Port of New Orleans. This will lead into an economic development roundtable discussion with Coates, Ashley Llewellyn of the St. Tammany Corporation and Dr. William Wainwright, chancellor of Northshore Technical Community College, which will be moderated by Patrick Beard, real estate manager with The Port of New Orleans and UNO adjunct faculty member.
Following the economic development discussion, Beard will moderate the commercial real estate roundtable with Jordan Johnson of Beau Box Commercial Real Estate and Townsend Underhill of Stirling Properties.
Matthew Meyers of Lowry-Dunham, Case & Vivien Insurance Agency will provide an update on the insurance industry and relevant updates from the legislative session before joining the residential real estate roundtable with Larry Schedler of Larry G. Schedler & Associates, Inc. and Robert Santopadre of Latter & Blum. The residential discussion will be moderated by Amy Ybarzabal with the Northshore Homebuilders Association.
All attendees are encouraged to pre-register by Thursday, April 27; registration may not be available at the door due to a limited number of seats. General admission is $50. Attendee check-in and networking begin at 8:30 a.m. Four hours of continuing education from the Louisiana Real Estate Commission (State Certified Vendor, Vendor Number 9125) and the Louisiana Appraisal Board have been applied for.
