CheckList Time

If you haven't already, you'll need to write down or remember your UNO log in information! This log in gives you access to Webstar (to check your class registration and fee bill), Moodle (to log in to your classes), your UNO email, and more!

To find this info, check your personal email; you should have received an email from UNO with your log in information sometime after being admitted to the University. Can't find it? Contact helpdesk@uno.edu. 

Navigate will organize your to-do’s on one easy timeline, remind you about deadlines, give you tips to create good habits, and more.

1. Open the Google Play or App Store and search for "Navigate Student" to download the app
2. Select "University of New Orleans"
3. Sign in using your UNO email and password

Don't have a smartphone? You can still use the desktop version by logging in to  myapps.uno.edu and clicking on the Navigate tile.

The Dock is a UNO home page designed just for current students like you, with shortcuts to your essentials linked at the top: the UNO calendar, your UNO email, the Earl K Long Library, the campus map, Moodle, and your MyApps page. Keeping this page handy will make it easy for you to find everything you need in an average day at UNO!

You'll need to make sure that you've either paid any outstanding balances on your fee bill or have signed up for a payment plan.

Payment Plan Information 

A payment plan option form was attached to your fee bill email including the minimum amounts due each month along with the due dates. This amount is subject to change depending on whether you make any changes to your classes. Please note there is a fee of $50 to enroll in the payment plan. We have recently extended our EPPO to be five monthly payments! Please note: if you do not pay in full, you are automatically enrolled in the EPPO.  Click here for more information.

Most if not all of your classes will be either hybrid or online. You should check your schedule in WebSTAR, as your course format may have been changed since you registered.

• For online courses that list specific days and times, the course will meet remotely at those times (usually via zoom).  
• Online courses that have 12am - 12am or TBA as the time don't meet at specific times.  Those are usually set up where students complete assignments by set deadlines at the student's pace.  
• Hybrid courses will meet in person periodically during the week and month. Your instructor will determine which days are meeting days. Instructors for hybrid courses will email their students the calendar for that specific course.

The first week of school will be used to set up the online learning between the instructors and students so please make sure you log in the first day of class. Check your UNO email frequently for updates.

As a new student, the State of Louisiana requires you to provide UNO with your immunization status regarding Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) or Tetanus Toxoid reduced diphtheria acellular pertussis (Tdap),  Meningococcal and COVID-19.

If haven't already, have your doctor's office complete this form and submit it to the Office of Student Affairs by fax (504-280-3975), email (healthservices@uno.edu) or in person to UC 248.

You'll need your ID card to get books from the library, use your meal or dining dollars, and to get into the residence halls. (You can also use it to get discounts at a bunch of businesses in the area and to get into the Rec Center and Privateer athletic events for free!)

You'll need to pick up your ID in-person. ID cards will be located in the Computer Center room 112 from 8:30 AM to 4:00PM, Mondays through Fridays. 

Your books are provided by the Follett ACCESS program! Follett ACCESS is a partnership between UNO and the UNO Bookstore that allows you to rent or purchase textbooks at a reduced cost. The charge is posted directly to your UNO Tuition and Fees bill and can be paid along with your University charges or using financial aid. Click here for more information.

• If your books are digital, check for an email from the UNO Bookstore with the subject line "Activate Your Digital Content,” which will contain an activation link, or “Your Digital Books Have Arrived,” which will contain an access code.
• If your email contains an access code, login to your course in Moodle and follow your instructors’ directions to register your code.
• If you need your textbooks shipped please email 1337asm@follett.com and include your name, student ID number, student email address and correct shipping address.

Will you have a car on campus this fall? Don't forget to pick up your parking decal!

Before you arrive

• You'll need a valid driver’s license, a valid vehicle registration and login to WebSTAR and complete the online decal application. You will pay for your decal on WebSTAR.
• *Residents of Privateer Place must complete a Privateer Place Parking Agreement Form which they can obtain from the management office of that complex. Contact info@privateerplaceUNO.com for more info.
• ** Residents of Pontchartrain Hall North or South do not need to register their vehicles on WebSTAR; they will request a decal through Adirondack and receive their residential decals at their front desk upon move in. Contact housing@uno.edu for more info.

Picking up your decal

• Students must be currently registered for classes, half of the tuition fees must be paid, and they must have payment receipt for parking decal(s). (You can pull up your payment confirmation on WebSTAR.)
• You'll need to pick up your decal in-person. Parking decals will be located in the University Center (2nd floor) from 8:30 AM to 4:00PM, Mondays through Fridays, from August 13th, 2020 through September 4th, 2020.

Registration of your vehicle is not complete until you affix your decal to your car. All decals must be placed on the outside of the rear window on the lower left side.
