After you UNIV 1001 class meets each day, your instructor will exit the Zoom room and your orientation leader will lead you in more informal discussions about what to expect in your first year and as a Privateer-- you'll see this listed as "small group time" on your MAMBO Week schedule. This is your time to talk with your peers and ask questions you might have about college!
New Student Convocation and your Commencement Ceremony serve as bookends to your college experience; one serves as your official welcome to the University and other your official bon voyage!
The formal program will be followed by one hour of meeting, greeting, and getting to know your fellow incoming Privateers through Playfair. You'll laugh, you'll learn, and you'll make friends by playing games and solving challenges together!
Group conversations are a way we will talk deeply about community and how who we are impacts how we experience community; students will self-select their group.
We will use Ask Big Questions to frame conversations by asking Big Questions that matter to everyone, and that everyone can answer. Based on what we learn and talk about, students will be able to connect the conversation to their lives and communities.
