About
Dr. O'Hanlon is the Interim Director of the School of Education in the University of New Orleans' College of Liberal Arts, Education, and Human Development. She completed a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. O'Hanlon is a gerontologist with research interests that focus on attitudes toward aging, self-aging, media and aging, and health and aging. Dr. O'Hanlon has directed educational programs for older adults and secured grant funding for such programs. She has worked in pharmaceutical research, program evaluation research, community research as well as university-based research. She has taught numerous courses for the health promotion program. Currently, much of her efforts focus on the administration of the School of Education. The School of Education houses the Counselor Education, Human Performance and Health Promotion, Educational Administration, and Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education programs.
