About
Dr. Marc Bonis has a Ph.D. in Human Performance and Health Promotion and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. He is an assistant professor at the University of New Orleans of the Human Performance and Health Promotion program in the College of Education and Human Development, and an adjunct assistant professor at Louisiana State University Health Science Center – School of Public Health in New Orleans. Dr. Bonis' research interest is in the areas of bone growth, physical activity, obesity, and osteoporosis as it relates to physical activity. He has co-authored articles that have been published in the Journal of Sports Science and Medicine and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. He has presented his research at the annual meetings of the American College of Sports Medicine, and has also co-authored presentations at the annual meetings of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and the Louisiana Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a certified ACSM Health Fitness Specialist. He is the author of "The Fat Old Man's Guide to Health and Fitness – Third Edition" (2010) – Virtualbookworm Publishing.
